At the end of May, 1918, the 21st London battalion of 140 Brigade, 47th Division, were carrying out training at a camp near Warloy, a few miles to the west of the town of Albert Although Warloy was behind the front line it was nor far enough back to be out of range of the German artillery and it is likely that it was shell fire that caused the death of Hubert Bradley on 26th May. |
